Don't Believe Anything You Read In The PalArab Media

Posted by Gaia on May 18, 2013 at 8:00am 0 Comments

Via EoZ:

The "International Middle East Media Center" says:

Monday evening, May 13 2013; a group of extremist Israeli settlers set ablaze Palestinian olive orchards and farmlands that belong the villages of Qaryout, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Local sources reported that the armed settlers burnt the agricultural lands, and prevented the villagers from reaching their lands to put the fire off.

Bashar Qaryouty, coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Qaryout village, reported that the burnt lands were planted with wheat and olive trees.

And from Palestine Info:

Jewish settlers set ablaze more than 20 dunums of cultivated land lots in Qaryut village, south of Nablus, on Monday and prevented their owners from approaching to put it off.

Bashar Al-Qaryuti, in charge with monitoring settlement activity in the village, said that dozens of settlers from the settlement of Shilo started the fire that burnt the land cultivated with barley, wheat, and olives.

He charged that the Israeli occupation forces provided protection for the settlers and blocked the land owners, 25 individuals, from extinguishing the fire.

There are stories like this daily in the PalArab media. Unfortunately, it is all too rare to find out the other side of the story.

Luckily,…

Fox News Ignores Geography

Posted by Gaia on May 17, 2013 at 7:30pm 0 Comments

While "Fox News" is presenting a video which shows IDF soldiers emerging from "Syrian territory", that is not what really happens:

LL: The Israelis built the border fence several hundred meters back from the actual border whenever possible, that way anyone approaching the fence would be in Israeli territory and could be dealt with before they reached the fence itself.

You can see this here (and for most of the border fence):

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=33.044...ed=0CAsQ_AUoAg

The brown road to the left of the actual border is the border fence. To the right of the border is the DMZ, of which Syria violated in November 2012 when it sent tanks in. The video captured Israeli troops patrolling still inside Israel, just on the other side of the fence.

Do you really think that Israel would withdraw its special forces from Syria in broad daylight with a news crew nearby?

The Israeli tanks are on the Israeli side of the border and not in the DMZ, they are completely allowed to be there and have always been allowed to be there.... The reporter has no idea what he's talking about.

Palestinians Killed, Injured, Displaced!

Posted by Gaia on May 16, 2013 at 8:30am 0 Comments

...in Syria.
An the Media yawn. Hypocrisy at its best.

But it is not only the Arabs and the Palestinian governments who are turning a blind eye to the mass displacement of Palestinians. Human rights organizations and the mainstream media in the West are also ignoring the plight of the Palestinians. This is, after all, a story that lacks an anti-Israel angle.
